Welcome to the Maintenance, Operations and Transportation (MOT) Department of the Rosedale Union School District. We provide maintenance/custodial services and school bus transportation to our seven elementary schools and two middle schools. Our bus drivers are dedicated and committed in providing safe transportation for all students. Our custodians take pride in providing a clean environment at their assigned school sites.

BUS SCHEDULES:
To obtain information on bus schedules, please visit your school site office. They are also available on our District Web Site www.ruesd.net Click on Bus Schedules. The bus schedules that will be posted are for Regular Schedules 1st-8th grades, Kindergarten, Kindergarten-Minimum Day, Kindergarten-Fog Delay.  Please be aware that we request all bus riders be waiting at the appropriate bus stop 5 minutes before the posted time. Students cannot be transported or transferred between district boundaries.  District buses will not enter gated communities or private property.

Due to the current economic climate, RUSD has condensed our bus routes to allow for a more cost-effective yet efficient way to transport students to school. We know there will be a period of adjustment as students and families adjust to the new schedules, but throughout we will continue to strive for the utmost professionalism in our busing service.

WEDNESDAY SCHEDULE:
On Wednesdays, students in grades 4-8 are dismissed one hour early and buses run on a Wednesday Schedule. Kindergarten also has a modified schedule and buses will run on a Wednesday Schedule.

MINIMUM DAY SCHEDULE:
Buses will follow their normally scheduled routes. PM Kindergarteners will come to school in the morning.

FOG DELAYS AND CLOSURES:
During the fog season, all school sites may have delayed starts which means that the buses will run 2 hours later than the Regular Schedule. The decision to call a Fog Delay is made by 6:00 a.m. and is based on a visibility standard of 300 feet over the majority of the district. Before the buses are allowed to leave at 6:30 a.m., I will have traveled throughout the district ensuring the 300-foot standard is in effect. For Fog Delay and Fog Closure information, please visit the District Web Site www.ruesd.net. Click on Fog Delays. You will have access to the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Web Site http://alertline.kern.org. Also, the delays are announced on most local radio and television stations by 7:00 a.m.

I hope you find this information to be helpful and informative. Thank you for visiting with us!
