• Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year.  If you are returning to American Elementary "Welcome Back!"  If you are new to American, "Welcome!"  The staff, school community, and myself feel that you have found the greatest place on earth to learn!   We have approximately 730 students at American Elementary. I was welcomed to this campus last year with open arms from the staff, students, and parents.  I am sure that all of our new students and families will experience the same type of warm welcome.

My name is Charles Riley.  I am the Dean of Students here at American.  What does a dean do?  My job is to assist Mr. Bray in anything that may be needed so that we continue to do "Whatever It Takes" to ensure that our students are safe, productive learners while they spend their day with us.  This may include helping students with peer conflict, helping students to make appropriate choices, and assisting in placing them in learning environments they will thrive in.  I have a passion for education and helping students.  I think a great friend of mine states it best when she says, "You have a real problem solving mentality."  I love to help students learn, solve problems, and SUCCEED!

You will see me very visible around campus.  Please to not hesitate to say, "Hi" or stop by my office and introduce yourself.  If there are any problems that I can help you resolve please do not hesitate to call me.   I am here to serve the students.  I have listed a little bit about me on my "About the Dean" page.  If you are interested, please take a look so we can get better acquainted.

I look forward to a great year!

    Sincerely,

    Charles Riley
    Dean of Students
