2019 Spelling Bee

  • The Rosedale Union School District participates in the local level of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
    This academic competition gives students the opportunity to showcase their knowledge of words.
    Students in grades 4 through 8 are eligible to participate.
     
    Each school site will hold a school level Spelling Bee in January of that school year.  Please contact your school for more information on dates and times.  Each school may send up to three spellers to the District Spelling Bee.  Additionally, this year the top two spellers at each school site receives a free one year subscription to Encyclopedia Brittanica Online for Kids (a $69.95 value).
     
    The Rosedale District Spelling Bee will be on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Development Center on the campus of Rosedale Middle School.  Parents are welcome to attend.
     
    The top speller at the Rosedale District Spelling Bee will move on to compete at the Kern County Spelling Bee at a date to be determined  at the Bakersfield City School District Auditorium located at 1300 Baker Street.
    The winner of the Kern County Spelling Bee will qualify to participate in the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in May.
     
    Students who are interested in participating in the Bee can get a variety of study materials through their school or via the Scripps National Spelling Bee website at www.spellingbee.com.
