Welcome from the Vice Principal

Welcome to Patriot Elementary! I’m Dr. Gretchen Skrotzki, and I am honored to serve as the Vice Principal of this incredible school community. With over 21 years in education, I am deeply committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every student can grow and succeed.

Before joining Patriot Elementary, I served as both Assistant Superintendent and Principal in Bishop, California. In those roles, I had the opportunity to lead district-wide efforts focused on instructional improvement, inclusive practices, and family engagement. My leadership experience has taught me the importance of listening, collaboration, and building strong, trusting relationships.

Here at Patriot, I am especially passionate about whole-child development and the implementation of key initiatives such as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). These frameworks help us meet the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all learners while promoting a positive school culture for students and staff alike.

I look forward to partnering with our families, staff, and community to make this a joyful and successful school year for every student.
