Attendance and Reporting Absences
Attendance Overview
Any absence, excused or unexcused, should be reported to the office on the day of the absence. If the absence is not reported within three (3) school days, the absence will be marked as an unexcused absence.

Returning to School
A student may return to school after an illness once symptoms have improved if the student has been:
Fever, vomit and diarrhea free for 24 hours without medication.
Excusable Absences
Not all absences or tardies are excusable even if reported to the office and/or teacher. According to the California Education Code(E.C. sections 49701 and 48205), your student will be excused for an absence when it is:
Personal illness for the student
Student’s medical or dental appointment
Funeral of immediate family member
Mandatory court appearance for student
Unexcused Absences
Out of town or vacation
Staying with a sick relative or a relative’s doctor's appointment
Family emergencies are not an excused absence
Otherwise excused but parent did not notify the office within 3 days
A Doctor’s Note is required after the 3rd consecutive day of an illness and after 12 non-consecutive days out due to an excused absences or the absence is unexcused.
