Spelling Bee

2022 Spelling Bee

The Rosedale Union School District participates in the local level of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

This academic competition gives students the opportunity to showcase their knowledge of words.

Students in grades 4 through 8 are eligible to participate.

Each school site will hold a school level Spelling Bee. Please contact your school for more information on dates and times. Each school may send up to three spellers to the District Spelling Bee.

The Rosedale District Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Rosedale Middle School Gymnasium. Students will be seated at least 6 feet apart and must wear masks. At this time, spectators will not be allowed in the building. We will have a live streaming option for digital viewing. When a participant is at the microphone, s/he will be allowed to lower their mask to ensure clarity of letters stated.

The top speller at the Rosedale District Spelling Bee will move on to compete at the Kern County Spelling Bee in March 2022 (exact date to be determined).

The winner of the Kern County Spelling Bee will qualify to participate in the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in May.

Students who are interested in participating in the Bee can get a variety of study materials through their school or via the Scripps National Spelling Bee website at Spelling Bee website.
