Dear Parents/Guardians of 8th grade students:
As the end of the year approaches, we are planning 8th grade graduation and end-of-the-year activities. Listed below are upcoming events and costs, if any. Please remember these activities are only for students who are eligible for graduation.

GRADUATION GOWN – See ordering deadline!
Graduation gowns can be borrowed or are available for purchase online at www.jostensbakersfield.com. The deadline for the gown purchase is Friday, March 1st. If you do not purchase a gown online, you will automatically be signed up to borrow a gown. **Caps are NOT allowed at graduation, gowns only**
GRADUATION TRIP
The 8th grade trip is scheduled for Monday, May 13, 2024 to Universal Studios Hollywood. Entrance tickets are $130.00, which includes the charter bus fee and park entrance ticket. All students are responsible for their own food and drink for this trip. If your student has a season pass, the charter bus fee is $50.00. Please provide a copy of your student’s season pass (front and back side) to the office for verification. The permission slip and payment need to be turned in together. Payment is due by Friday, April 12, 2024.
HONOR ROLL & PRINCIPAL LIST CELEBRATION
The 8th grade Honor Roll & Principal List Celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the RMS Amphitheater at 5:00pm. Invitations will be sent out to those students who qualify at a later date. Students who have made Honor Roll or Principal List for three quarters will be honored at this celebration. Mid-quarter grades will be used for the 4th quarter to determine eligibility for the celebration.
GRADUATION
Graduation will be held Friday, May 31, 2024. The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00am at Liberty High School Football Stadium. More information to follow later in Quarter 4.
Besides wearing grad gowns, the following dress code is recommended at graduation:
Boys: Slacks, collared dress shirt (with or without neck or bow tie) and clean shoes.
Girls: Nice dress and shoes that will allow comfortable walking without fear of tripping on steps, grass, and slopes.
