Almondale’s second grade students have been running post offices in their classes! They learned about the process of addressing mail, writing correspondence, canceling letters, and more. They took a walk with Stanley to mail letters to their families for Valentine’s Day! ❤️💙💚✨

Patriot 6th Grade Students in Mrs. Hitchcock’s class hit the gridiron in math on Friday! Students moved from yard line to yard line solving one- step equations.The first team to complete all task cards correctly,while showing their work , scored the winning touchdown. 🏈 🎈
Independence Mothers and Son’s had a glowing good time at this year’s bingo event!! Games, prizes, an awesome DJ and yummy snacks helped to make this event a huge success! Thank you PTC for creating these special moments for our families! 💜💚

Patriot Elementary had family night at the Bakersfield Condors Friday! Over 100 Eagles showed up to cheer on the Bakersfield Condors in a thrilling Overtime finish and several students got to play broom hockey during intermission!🥅🏒
Patriot 6th Graders got to practice and review different math strategies with coordinate planes, integers, fractions, and absolute value! Students worked in centers with help from CSUB baseball players and got to explain their reasoning at each station!
Rosedale North had another Roadrunner Recess last week. When teachers and staff see positive behavior, they hand out tickets and these go into a water jug. When the jug is filled, everyone earns a Roadrunner Recess. Lots of smiles and fun were had by all! 😀🙌🏼

Patriot Elementary got a very special visit from New York Yankee pitcher and hometown star Allan Winans. Students got to listen to a baseball story, ask questions, and listen to Mr. Winans share about his time in the Major League! Good luck this season!⚾️
American Elementary students, parents and staff cheered the Bakersfield Condors on to a victory, 3 to 2 against the Toronto Marlies! Fun was had by all! Go Condors! 🏒🙌🏼

Patriot EDC continues to plan incredibly scientific artistic activities for students afterschool! Students learned about the make up of a volcano, created their own, and got to experience eruptions!🌋
This week Centennial Elementary joined other schools from around the world to participate in The Great Kindness Challenge. Our Cubs focused on being kind to themselves, their families, their school, and their community. Kindness was celebrated with spirit dress up days and crafts during recess. ❤️🐻 🥰

Spanish classes are currently in the middle of their food unit. FMS students had the opportunity to make homemade tortillas while practicing their Spanish-speaking skills. Both the students and their appetites thoroughly enjoyed this class project!
