
Centennial CUBS got to meet their teachers this morning at Meet and Greet. We are super excited about the first day of school tomorrow!







More end of the year activities happening here at Centennial today! TK and Kindergarten students enjoyed some super centers out on the playground. 6th graders challenged parents and teachers to a game of kickball. Once again, they walked away in defeat. Good job parents and teachers!!

The end of the year celebrations continue as Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Davis' 5th grade classes enjoyed an ice cream sundae party on this beautiful morning.





Today we celebrated our 6th graders who are ready to leave Centennial and head off to Jr. High. Students had a blast playing outside with blowups, climbing tower, and yard games. They got to snack on unlimited sno cones and enjoy the candy bar. Thank you to our PTC and many parents who made this a special party for our 6th grade CUBS!







Our first graders celebrated the end of a hard working year with a party in the park! Thank you to all of the teachers and parent volunteers who helped to run these fun centers.









Last Friday, we celebrated our 6th graders who have been on the honor roll for 3 quarters or more this year. Parents were invited to join students at Hodel's for a beautiful luncheon.






Congratulations to our very own Miss Kendrick for receiving Rosedale's Community Member Golden Apple Award. Miss K runs the incredible art program here at Centennial. She provides in depth art lessons every other week during the school year to our classes. Students love art day! Many of you were able to see the amazing glow in the dark art display that was created by Miss K, the Centennial Cubs, and some very hard working PTC volunteers at Open House. We are grateful to all who help fundraise with PTC as this helps make Miss K's art program possible!

This morning our 4th-6th Grade BOB Team traveled to the Kern County Museum for North Kern's Battle of the Books event. These student have spent the year reading from a list of 30 books and this morning were teamed up with kids from all over Kern County. Teams answered questions about this great literature. Stay tuned for more information on how your student can be apart of our BOB team next year!

Last Thursday our First Grade CUBS went on a field trip to CALM. They were able to see all kinds of animals and plants that are native to California.









Several of our CUBS are enjoying Mrs. Maybee's after school Latch Hook class on Mondays as apart of our ELOP program.

Saturday was the Kern County Oral Language Festival. We are so incredibly proud of Gwen, Claire, and Emily for representing Centennial Elementary. Congratulations to Gwen for placing second place in the Serious Solo Category. These students are amazing!



Last night our PTC hosted Family Paint Night with our talented art teacher, Miss K. Families got to be creative together painting a beautiful sunset over some ocean waves on a wood canvas.

Happy Administrative Professionals' Day! We are very grateful to Ms. Macedo and Mrs. Fisher for taking good care of the staff and students here at Centennial Elementary.

This past Thursday our musical CUBS put on a Spring Concert for parents and families. The 6th Grade Band and Choir performed along with our 5th graders who have been learning how to play the recorder. Earlier in the week the rest of our CUBS were able to preview the concert as students performed for two assemblies. Our students are so very lucky to be able to learn from the talented Mrs. Napier!







Our Centennial CUBS who made their 3rd Quarter AR Goal got to celebrate this afternoon with a treat and some sidewalk chalk. Check out these readers who are also artists!

It is a beautiful spring morning that is perfect to grow some plants! Mrs. Dennis' kindergarteners planted seeds after reading Jack and the Beanstalk.

Yesterday our 4th graders got to experience what life was like in California hundreds of years ago with an interactive program called Journeys to the Past. Students played games, wove baskets, panned for gold, and even did some laundry! Thank you to the many parent volunteers who helped make this a fun filled day for our CUBS.

Yesterday, our 3rd Grade CUBS went on a field trip to the Kern County Fairgrounds to enjoy the Farm Day in the City event. They learned all about different parts of our Ag community.

Mr. Brewer's 3rd Grade class took advantage of the beautiful weather this morning and took their math lesson outside. Student applied what they have been learning about perimeter to some real life spaces around campus.
