Mrs. Dean's first graders did an investigation with apples. Students estimated how tall apples were and how many seed were in them.
Our Cubs have enjoyed being able to visit the POP room during lunch recess. POP stands for Power of Play. This room allows students to come off of the busy playground and practice social skills such as taking turns or sharing. Students are able to play board games, do origami, draw, and a ton of different activities.
Mrs. King’s second graders were practicing arrays in a sweet way, Math is always more fun with Skittles!
Mrs. McKee's first graders solved a math problem by working in teams to create a math poster. They were challenged to fill a basket with 12 apples using 3 colors of apples. They figured out there are several ways to make the number 12 with 3 addends.

Tonight PTC held the annual Scholastic and Sundae event where families got to check out the book fair and enjoy some delicious ice cream.

Our kindergartners are learning in Social Studies what it means to be a kind friend. After reading The Rainbow Fish, they discussed how kindness, generosity, and sharing can help friendships grow. Students then used watercolors to paint their own beautiful rainbow fish to remind them to always be kind and generous friends!
Our Cubs today participated in an important school bus training. A big thanks to the drivers from Rosedale's MOT who showed students what to do in case of an emergency.
Last night we welcomed our families to Back to School Night to hear all about the great things to come this year!
Today our school's therapy dog, Otis came to school for the first time! Ottis belongs to Mrs. Furtado who is teaching kindergarten at our school this year. Otis had the best time meeting all kinds of new friends. He loved all of the pets and hugs he got from our Cubs.
Today our students spent some time learning all about PAWS which are our school wide expectations. Cubs visited stations and listened to several adults from around our campus. We know that to be successful at school we must do our Personal best by Acting responsibly, Working and playing safely, and Showing respect!

Kindergarten celebrated the end of another fantastic year with some fun outdoor centers this morning. Kids had a blast playing all kinds of games!
Today was the annual 6th Grade vs Parent/Teacher kickball game. While everyone had fun, the adults were victorious once again!

Mrs. Seal's sixth graders made beautiful butterfly puppets for their little buddies in Mrs. Dean's first grade class. This was a lovely activity to celebrate their year together.
Our library has been turned into a mini golf course! Cubs who have turned in all of their library books get a chance to show off their putting skills.
