Today our 4th=6th Grade Battle of the Books team competed at CALM with schools from all over Kern County. They have been preparing for today's battle by reading 20-30 books from an extensive list of literature. We are so proud of them!

Our Centennial Cubs enjoyed popsicles and pajamas on Friday!

Mrs. Williams' 5th Graders finished reading the novel Time for Andrew and celebrated by playing a marble game from the story.

Our 6th Graders enjoyed getting outside of the classroom today for some nature journaling.

Primary ELOP Gardening spent some time last week learning how birds help in the spreading of seeds in the wild. They then made edible bird feeders to take home.

We would like to congratulate our Cubs who completed at the Kern County Oral Language Festival on Saturday. We are so very proud of you! Congratulations to Jane who placed 3rd in the Humorous Solo category and to Leyianne & Charlotte who placed 3rd in the Serious Duo category. Way to go!!

Last night our PTC hosted the Mother Son Block Party. It was definitely a night filled with building memories. Cubs and their moms enjoyed brick themed treats, building challenges, and some great tunes from the DJ.

Mrs. Maybee's second graders are hatching chicks in their classroom. They learned how to candle the eggs using a flashlight to observe what was growing inside of their eggs.

Mrs. King's second graders have been practicing identifying and counting coins. Using real coins that the students have brought from home has made counting so much fun!

Mrs. Haskell's third graders celebrated Earth Day with a STEM project. Students were challenged to build something that could move a small object without any hands. The budling materials were all recycled!

We want to wish a very wonderful Administrative Assistants day to our very own Ms. Macedo and Mrs. Fisher. They work hard to keep the parents, students, and staff going here at Centennial Elementary. Thank you for all you do for us!
