Centennial Cubs celebrated the end of the first quarter with a Cub Day today! Student Council set up some fun activities for our Cubs to enjoy. It was a beautiful afternoon.
Our intermediate ELOP art class has been busy painting using textures and adding real objects to their paintings. These Cubs are also recycling old books to make pumpkins.

Our K/TK/SDC playground had come alive with beautiful, interactive murals that our cubs are loving! Students are learning new games, showing off art skills, and even practicing counting while playing.

Mrs. McKee's first graders were given a subtraction problem to solve. Students paired up to create posters representing their solutions. Students then presented their posters to the class explaining their thinking.

Mrs. Maybee's second graders have been learning about the state of matter. They got together with their sixth grade buddies in Mrs. Valentino's class and turned a liquid into a delicious solid...butter!

Mrs. Seals' and Mrs. Dean's classes worked together to fluff pinecones to look like owls. Did you know that a group of owls is called a parliament?

Attention Centennial Families, please click on the link below for information on Brimhall and Renfro road closures starting Monday, September 29th:

Mrs. Dean's first graders sampled different apple products and graphed the class favorite. They also tested apples to see if they float in water. Super fun way to end a unit of student on Apples!

Mrs. Pinon's class got to visit the Kern County Fair for Special Friends Day. These Cubs enjoyed a day of visiting the animals and even go to try out the merry-go-round.

Mrs. Tamayo's first graders were given a math problem to solve. They worked in pairs to come up with a way to make the number 12 using three addends. They then created a poster to display their equations.

Centennial Cubs are hard at work earing tickets by showing what it means to follow our school wide behavior expectations. They can turn the tickets in for prizes at our PAWSome Store. This group of students purchased a lunch with our Vice Principal, Mrs. Stern. If you would like to donate to our PAWSome Store, please click on the Amazon link below:

Mrs. Maybee' s second graders did an experiment to see why raisins float in a sprite but not water. These scientist got to see the dance!

Mrs. Whitten's third graders used some fun manipulatives to create arrays. They then separated the arrays to model the distribution property of multiplication.

Arrrrgh! Kindergarten celebrated International Talk Like a Pirate Day! These buccaneers had fun with different literacy and math centers that were all pirate themed.
